Fr. Cyril Adim Offiong was born in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria. He is one of 8 children and has an older brother who is also a priest in his home Archdiocese of Calabar. Fr. Cyril's formation and journey to the priesthood took many years and paths, however, his vocation to the priesthood first became clear to him when he made his First Holy Communion. Fr. Cyril's education first took place in Calabar where he was also accepted for formation into St. Patrick's Missionary Society. Fr. Cyril had his undergraduate studies in Philosophy at St. Joseph's Theological Institute, Cedara, South Africa. After his undergraduate studies, Fr. Cyril took some years out for further discernment and spent the next three years teaching English and Religious studies in a Secondary School in Nigeria. In 2009, Fr. Cyril came to the USA and took some graduate courses at Providence College, Providence, RI. During his studies, he got to know the Society of Divine Vocations and was accepted for formation. Fr. Cyril made his First Profession of Vows September 15, 2012. On September 12th, 2015, he professed his Final Vows at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, Paterson, NJ and was Ordained a Deacon, the following day, September 13, 2015, at St. Cecelia Church, Iselin, NJ. Fr. Cyril was ordained to the Priesthood on October 8, 2016 at St. Michael Church, Newark, NJ. He served as Parochial Vicar at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wareham, MA (2017-2019) and at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Apopka Florida (2018-2021).
