VIRTUS is a program created by the National Catholic Risk Retention Group in the United States with a "Protecting God's Children" compon
VIRTUS focuses on educating teachers, parents, and other adults who interact with children about sexual abuse and providing them with information to help prevent abuse. This takes place in 'awareness sessions' led by trained facilitators. The awareness sessions consist of videos, worksheets, and discussions. The videos incorporate interviews with both victims and convicted perpetrators.
What is RCIA?
The RCIA, which stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process through which non-baptized men and women enter the Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants in the RCIA are known as catechumens. They undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist. If you are intereted please contact Sister Anna Tran at 732-283-2816. Classes will begin the week of September 23rd.
Classes for students in grades 1 through 8 are conducted every Monday from 5:45 PM to 7:10 PM at Oak Tree School #29, conveniently located on the campus of St. Cecelia's Church. These sessions are tailored to nurture the religious growth and understanding of our young parishioners.
We are committed to the ongoing spiritual development of our adult community. Throughout the year, we offer special programs aimed at deepening religious knowledge and faith. For more information on these enriching opportunities, please contact us.
For re-registration, kindly submit your forms to the Religious Education Office. You can use the self-addressed envelope provided or hand-deliver it to the Parish Office. Forms are available on the registration page or directly via this link: Religious Education Registration.
New students enrolling in classes must visit the Religious Education Office with the original baptismal certificates and any relevant documents, such as proof of attendance or records of sacraments received from another school. During this visit, we will provide detailed information about specific requirements for our Religious Education Program. Please note, it is mandatory for students to be registered members of St. Cecelia Church.
The mission statement of our catechists is a call to discipleship, an invitation to share with their students a fuller awareness of the Catholic Faith and the teaching of the Church. Catechists provide to their students through their example of the Christian life, the call to pray, service, and love for Jesus Christ and His Gospel of Love
